The Renaissance High School c/o 2004 In Memoriam Scholarship honors RHS faculty/staff and provides direct financial support to three c/o 2024 students who embody the values and interests of our beloved classmates. Recipients will be presented at the RHS 2024 Awards Ceremony on Thursday, May 2, 2024.

Students

• Rev. Ieshia Renee Currie, PhD Award: Senior student pursuing curriculum and education, humanities and social sciences, theology, philosophy, religion, or a related field.
• Dr. Randal Harris, MD Award: Senior student pursuing a science, technology, engineering, art or math related field.
• Scott Bartell Award: Senior student pursuing fine, performing and communication arts.

Faculty
Pamela Pryor Award: Faculty or staff member who models an exceeding level of care, integrity, and teamwork. Nominees are selected by a combined vote of RHS class of 2024 students and RHS faculty.

Submission Guidelines
The class of 2004 is accepting votes and applications from January 15 to April 22, 2024. All scholarship award applicants are required to submit required materials via email to info@rhs04reunion.com by April 22, 2024 at 11:59 p.m. EST. Supporting materials include:

• One (1) personal statement OR written or video essay. Personal Statement or essay submission must be the applicants’ original work, within 500 to 800 words in length, submitted in PDF format and no greater than 1 MB in size. (Three (3) minute video essays are acceptable, and essay question is included below)
• Two (2) letters of recommendation from a school official, counselor, teacher, present or former employer, or community leader with at least one from a school official. Letter must be submitted on letterhead and bear the author’s signature and direct contact information. We recommend the authors be personally familiar with the applicant’s accomplishments, performance, skills, character, and/or experience.
• One (1) high school transcript OR college, university or trade school acceptance letter

Personal Statement Writing Prompt: Reflect on a personal passion or hobby and explain how it has contributed to your personal growth and development. Share a moment of personal growth or self-discovery and discuss how it has shaped your aspirations and future plans.

Essay Question: The year is 2044, what do you hope to have achieved? Explain why your personal and career goals make sense in light of your experiences and influences so far. Demonstrate why you are suited to a particular field as a result of your education, experience, abilities, and enthusiasm. Point to how your particular abilities can help you contribute to that field.
